What a Wonderful World!
This term we are honing our geography skills in our new topic called 'What a Wonderul World'.
We will start by looking at some of the wonders of the world and locating them on a map before learning about different continents and countries using a variety of techniques including stop frame animation, papier mache and I movie.
Mrs Cornish will also be leading a science focus this term on understanding and classifying our local flora and fauna around the school each Monday (bring your wellies!).
During our recent EPIC (everyone plans in class) session, the children came up with so many fantastic ideas to cover this term that we will be hard pushed to cover them all!! So after half term we will be utilising these ideas whilst we are learning about the problems our wonderful world faces as well as ways to look after our planet. Our 'mini topics' will be about 'pollution problems', 'terrific trees', 'global warming is gloomy' and 'brilliant bees' (I like a bit of alliteration!!). We will also be looking at healthy bodies and food to coincide with sports day towards the end of June.
