What to bring and when!
Picture

Pencil Cases

Your child is welcome to bring a pencil case to school. However, everything that your child needs for their learning is provided and so a pencil case is not needed. Pencil cases often remain in their bags if they are not being used as this gives the children more space on their tables.

Shoelaces

If your child wears shoes with laces to school, please could you practise tying them up with your child so that they can  build independence. There is a link to a file below which you can download to help you. There will also be a 'shoe lace tying pack' whci one child will take home each Friday and should be returned by the following Tuesday.

Friday

Our outside PE day is moving to Friday. Please can your child be dressed in suitable clothes for outdoor games, including trainers, shorts or trousers and a t shirt. Please can all jewellery be removed if possible.

Friday morning is when we normally do our quickfire maths. It is called Big Maths Beat That. Children have 100 seconds to complete addition and multiplication questions and try and beat their own score from the previous week. Hopefully they will get quicker and more confident in remembering these facts which will help them in all areas of maths.

Reading books will usually go home on a Friday. Please can these be returned by the following Tuesday. Remember it is important to support your child's reading and encourage them even when they find it challenging. Your child may find it easier to read a little each night rather than save it all up and so it in one go!
Spellings  will begin to go home on Friday ready to practise for the following week. Homework will also be set on My Maths on a Friday and is normally due in on the following Friday.
